Yoshida-Ya in Kyoto

I ordered tororo soba but the seasoning is too dark. I can not eat it The clerk was talking for a long time, saying a foreigner's bad talk. I was very uncomfortable.

Below average noodles and tempura. I have had much better noodles at $5 vending machine shops in Tokyo. No credit cards. However nice decore.

One of the nicest, simple restaurants of Arashiyama. A few years ago we have eaten here several times and now again.The map is well-arranged but offers a wide selection. The service is very friendly and easily overcomes the language barriers.The prices are low, for € 10 per person you come a long way for a lunch that you can spend the rest of the afternoon with.It's in a small restaurant that can seat maybe 30 guests. There are therefore often people waiting for a table. But the operation goes so fast that the lead time is quite short and often there is soon a table free again.

Overpriced 100%. Food is not even as good as yoshinoya... There are a ton of other places nearby that are superior. You should avoid!

I got their beef curry udon and it was pretty good... but they barely gave you any noodles or meat. I was still starving afterwards. There was a wait/line. My BFs dish of chicken and eggs over rice was so much better than mine.

I came to Arashiyama by sightseeing and ate at lunch at a restaurant here but it was very delicious!I ordered parent and child rice bowls, but the delicious soup was delicious and the eggs were also satisfying with the Trotoro!

After a long walk around town we found this restaurant the perfect remedy for the hunger we worked up. The food was simple, but very hearty and tasty. Touristic place, lot of choices but the rice is better than udon, which is over cooked. The taste is sweet & salty. Ok for a quick lunch but don't expect anything more.

If you just want a simple, tasty, good-value lunch in a place with good service and very fair prices, this is the place. Rice with scrambled egg and chicken was 900yen, came quickly, tasted delicious. It's not a gourmet restaurant but if you've worked up an appetite or notice it's lunchtime on your way tot he bamboo forest etc, it's perfect.

The Yoshida-ya is a small hole-in-the-wall restaurant with one of the best tasting menus around. My wife and I enjoyed a delightful and very filling lunch for about ¥2,500 (a fraction of the cost of some of the surrounding restaurants). The staff were helpful, and despite being packed, the atmosphere was tranquil and the food was brought out quickly. Perfect way to relax in the afternoon after being done with the nearby temple tours.

I wonder if the stock of herring soba was too sweet.It might be something like this...And maybe it can't be helped? However, the inside of the store was a little small.
